The thought of doing animation is a daunting one. I had missed the week that we had worked on animation so in my first attempts to figure Ito out by myself were almost pathetic. One I asked Colleen for guidance, things ran much smoother. My initial idea of animating my magazine logo was quickly shown out the window as its complexity would have me pulling my hair out and we only had to do a simple animation. So I scrapped that idea and imported a globe that I designed earlier. I decided that I would have the globe bounce around the page and eventually bounce close enough to fill the page with the ocean colour and slide a message across the page. I wanted to make the globe appear to be bouncing up and down, but also far away and closer. I played with the size of the globe to make this illusion happen.
The whole time I was making this animation, all I could think of was how absolutely incredibly it is how animated films are made. I really enjoyed this process of making a 20 second animation and I can’t even begin to image how animated movies can be over 3,600 seconds long. Baby steps.
I am very grateful for the opportunities that the Adobe suite has given me throughout this course.
