Hi everyone,
My name is Cali Nessman. I am currently in my second year here at Thompson Rivers University. I started out in a general Bachelor of Arts but I have migrated into a communications-concentrated course load. I have taken a number of design courses and have enjoyed experimenting with my creative side. I have taken Travel Media where I worked in a group to produce a magazine that highlighted travel in British Colombia. I wrote several articles and contributed a lot to the content aspect of the magazine and also helped with designing the layout. I took a Journalism course where I also worked in a group to make a website showcasing tourism in Kamloops. In my other communication design courses, I have had the opportunity to work with the Adobe suite to produce graphic design and other creative pieces while learning about design theories. My digital production course has certainly taught me the most variety in communication aspects. I absolutely loved creating the magazine and I spent countless hours working on it. In this course, I also had the opportunity to delve into a variety of editing software like Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance my designs.
